The West Bank Separation Barrier: Photo Essay

An agricultural well in Qaffin, located twenty feet off the barrier’s path, July 2003. The Israeli authorities have warned local residents that they will be forbidden from approaching within 160 feet of the barrier. If this rule is enforced, Qaffin’s residents will lose well access. Incomes in the northern West Bank depend heavily on agriculture. Those areas that are well-irrigated produce far more than those without.
